I've been extraordinarily lucky: Traveling to more than 50 countries, guiding for 10 years in Alaska and Oregon, living in Central Asia and experiencing quite a bit along the way. All while managing to develop a few good stories. In between teaching, a 2 year old and a wife in grad school - I also started a new direction by starting a career in art. Here is art, travels and other aspects of my life.

The Flip in Wild Sheep

Shad went HUGE with the Super Puma. Sheep Creek Rapid was running at about 27,000 cfs at the time so the entry and run was new for all members of the party. Far right is not the typical line. He all made it through and Shad was the last to go. He was doing it perfectly until the first lateral wave. He highsided and lost an oar. He then ran most of the rapid without an oar, all to get nailed and flipped in the last lateral wave. He officially joined the tough guy club.
