Holy mackerel - she belongs to us!
Sydney Grace Udesen made her appearance at 9:48 am on Monday, February 16th. With the unmovable breach - she arrived via a successful C-section. Unfortunately Amy's recovery was a bit on the scary side - a half hour after she was in recovery the Doc administered pitocin and for the first time ever at St. Luke's, mom had a reaction to it. No one knew until 8 hours later - so in the meantime her heart rate dropped below 40, her temp was hypothermic at sub 94 degree readings and she had very concerning cardio rhythms - all that to say, it was a stressful day for all the new family.
The baby is beautiful, happy, has big blue eyes and could not make us happier. Now that we are recovering from the scare and virtually constant observation by docs, we are very interested in sleep, even if it is on a hospital bed.
