I've been extraordinarily lucky: Traveling to more than 50 countries, guiding for 10 years in Alaska and Oregon, living in Central Asia and experiencing quite a bit along the way. All while managing to develop a few good stories. In between teaching, a 2 year old and a wife in grad school - I also started a new direction by starting a career in art. Here is art, travels and other aspects of my life.

Gokyo Ri - Part Two: Headaches, Everest and Insane Panoramics

We woke up to yet another spectacular clear day. I was a hurting unit when Amy rustled around, wiped the window and declared the mountains were celarer today then they were yesterday. She was putting on her boots and ready to go and I was contemplating my headache pain threshold. After a bit of prodding she go me to slip my boots on and I told her to get moving and I would bring up the rear of the group. I slogged away behond her, but eventually we both made it to the point we confirmed or previous day's sighting of Mt. Everest.

A spectacular peak with a hybridized name - Chocolatse

Post-breakfast photo with our inn keeper. What a guy. When he wasn't taking good care of us, feeding us fresh veggies and making sure our tea was hot he was hauling rocks, getting fire "wood" or some other task most of us would disdain.

Trail down from Gokyo Ri on our way from an early morning session high on the moutain to Phortse. One of the many days we did what should take 2 or 3 to complete. What took us 3 days to ascend took a day to retrace.
